Apple Tech Support and Lessons in South Florida: Set Up, Sync, Learn and Support for Every Apple Device
Updated: Oct 5
The Quick Answer Looking for in-home Apple tech support or Apple lessons in South Florida? TechCare Miami sends a patient Apple specialist to your home in Aventura, North Miami, Sunny Isles, Hallandale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines and nearby cities. We set up, sync, back up and fix iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods and HomePod, and we teach you how to use them with confidence. Sessions start at $85. |
Almost every Apple home we visit has the same story.
There's an iPhone full of photos. An iPad that mostly gets used for the news. A Mac that hasn't been backed up in two years. And a HomePod still sitting in its box, because nobody had a free afternoon to figure it out.
Each device works fine on its own. The problem is they're not working together, and nobody ever showed you how they're supposed to. That's where we come in. At TechCare Miami, half of what we do is in-home Apple tech support: setting things up, connecting them and fixing what's broken. The other half is teaching: sitting down with you at your own kitchen table, with your own devices, and going at your pace until it clicks.
This guide covers both. You'll see how your Apple devices are meant to work as a team, room by room, the ten things we help with most, and what a visit with us actually looks like.
"People don't fall in love with Apple because of one device. They fall in love the first time they take a photo on their iPhone and it's already waiting on their iPad when they sit down. Our job is to get every client to that moment, and then make sure they know how to keep it working on their own." - Michael, Founder, TechCare Miami
Two Kinds of Apple Help: "Fix It" and "Teach Me"
Most people call us for one of two reasons. Something isn't working, or they want to finally understand how to use what they own. Often it's both in the same visit.
Apple Tech Support (Fix It) | Apple Lessons and Guidance (Teach Me) |
New device set up, with your old photos, contacts and messages moved over | Learn the basics of your iPhone, iPad or Mac at your own pace |
Photos, contacts and calendars synced across every device | Learn to share photos with family, video call and text with confidence |
Backups turned on and checked | Understand what iCloud is, and what you're actually paying for |
HomePod, Apple TV and smart home devices connected | Learn to use Siri for reminders, calls and controlling your home |
Problems found and fixed | Learn the simple fixes so you can handle small issues yourself |
Many clients start with a fix and then book a few lessons. Others start with lessons and we discover a backup problem along the way. Either way, you finish the visit with things working and knowing more than when we arrived.
Why Apple Devices Work Best as a Team
Apple builds its devices to pass things back and forth. Copy a recipe on your iPhone and paste it on your Mac. Answer a phone call on your iPad. Start an email on one device and finish it on another. Apple calls this Continuity, and when it works, it feels a little like magic.
The catch is that it only works when every device is signed in to the same Apple Account, connected to the same Wi-Fi, with the right settings switched on. One setting off, and the whole chain breaks.
That's the single most common thing we fix in Apple homes. It's also one of the most useful things we teach, because once you understand how the pieces connect, you stop feeling like the devices are in charge of you.
Your Apple Home, Room by Room
The easiest way to understand what your Apple devices can do is to walk through your home. Here's what a fully connected Apple home looks like, and how we help in each room.

The Front Door
Smart locks, video doorbells and lights can all live in Apple's Home app, right on your iPhone. A HomePod can even let you know when someone's at the door.
We set up: your smart devices in the Home app, organized by room so they're easy to find.
We teach you: how to lock the door from the couch, check who's outside, and share access with a family member.
The Kitchen
This is where a HomePod or HomePod mini earns its keep. Timers while you cook, music while you clean, and a shared grocery list that updates on your spouse's phone the moment you add milk.
We set up: HomePod, Siri and a shared list in the Reminders app.
We teach you: the handful of Siri requests you'll actually use every day, including calling family hands-free.
The Living Room
Apple TV turns your television into the family photo album. You can show vacation photos on the big screen, play movies stored on your Mac, and watch your streaming apps in one place.
We set up: Apple TV, your streaming apps and Home Sharing for movies on your Mac.
We teach you: how to send photos from your iPhone to the TV with one tap.
The Home Office
Your Mac is the hub. It's where long-term backups live, where documents get organized, and where copy and paste between devices saves you the most time.
We set up: Time Machine backups, iCloud Drive, your printer, and the connection between your Mac and iPhone.
We teach you: how to find any file, organize your photos, and AirDrop a document from your phone to your computer.
On the Go
Out of the house, your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods work as one. Pay with your watch at Publix, take a call through your AirPods, and find your keys or your phone with Find My.
We set up: Apple Pay, Find My, Apple Watch safety features and AirPods that switch between devices on their own.
We teach you: how to pay safely, and how to use the safety features that matter most, like Fall Detection on Apple Watch.
The Nightstand
While you sleep, your iPhone can back itself up, charge and stay quiet, except for the people you want to hear from.
We set up: automatic overnight backups and a Sleep Focus that silences everything but family.
We teach you: how to make sure an urgent call from your kids always gets through.

The 10 Things We Help Apple Users With Most
These are the requests we hear most often, in the words our clients use. Each one is part fix, part lesson.
1. How do I set up a new iPhone, iPad or Mac without losing anything?
A new device should feel exciting, not stressful. The setup screens ask a lot of questions, and one wrong tap can leave your photos or contacts behind on the old device.
We fix: the full setup, moving everything from your old device to your new one, and checking that nothing got left behind.
We teach: the new features on your device, and what's different from the one you had before.
Learn more about our new device setup service.
2. How do I get my iPhone, iPad and Mac to sync?
If a photo you took this morning isn't on your iPad, or your Mac shows a different set of contacts than your phone, your devices aren't syncing. Usually it comes down to the Apple Account and a few iCloud settings.
We fix: the account and settings so photos, contacts, calendars, notes and messages match everywhere.
We teach: how to check that syncing is on, so you'll know what to look for if it ever stops.
3. What's the best way to back up my Apple devices?
We recommend two backups: one in iCloud and one at home. iCloud backs up your iPhone and iPad automatically each night. A Time Machine backup keeps a full copy of your Mac on an external drive. Apple also explains how to back up an iPhone or iPad with iCloud and back up to your Mac.
We fix: backups that stopped running, and backups that were never turned on.
We teach: how to check the date of your last backup. It takes about ten seconds, and it's the most valuable habit an Apple owner can have.
4. Am I paying for the right iCloud plan?
Every Apple Account comes with 5GB of free iCloud storage, which fills up fast. Then the "iCloud storage is full" messages start. Some people pay for more storage than they need. Others pay for nothing and aren't backed up at all.
We fix: full storage, duplicate photos and plans that don't match how you use your devices.
We teach: what iCloud actually stores, and how to keep it tidy.
For a deeper look, read our guide: iCloud Not Working? The Simple Guide to Problems, Fixes, Features and Pricing.
5. What's the difference between Home Sharing and Family Sharing?
These two sound almost the same, and almost everyone mixes them up.
Home Sharing lets you play music and movies stored on your computer on other devices in your home, like your Apple TV.
Family Sharing lets up to six family members share apps, subscriptions like Apple TV+ and an iCloud storage plan, and helps you see each other's locations if you choose to.
We fix: sharing that isn't working, and family members who were never added.
We teach: which one you need, and how to share a subscription with your kids or grandkids without sharing your password.
6. How can Siri actually help me day to day?
Siri is one of the most useful Apple features for adults and seniors, and one of the least used. You can set reminders, call family, send texts, check the weather and control your lights without touching a screen.
We fix: Siri that doesn't respond, or isn't turned on at all.
We teach: the ten Siri requests that will save you the most time, practiced until they feel natural.
7. How do I set up Apple Home and a HomePod?
Apple's Home app brings your smart lights, thermostat, locks and speakers into one place. Setting up a HomePod is easier when your iPhone is already set up correctly, because the HomePod copies your Wi-Fi and account settings from it.
We fix: devices that won't connect, Wi-Fi dead spots and accessories that keep dropping off.
We teach: how to control your home by voice, by room and with simple automations, like lights turning on at sunset.

8. How do I use AirDrop to share photos?
AirDrop is the fastest way to share photos and videos between Apple devices that are close by. It's perfect for sending the grandkids the photos you took at dinner before they've even left the table.
We fix: AirDrop that can't find the other person, which is usually a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or contact setting.
We teach: how to send and receive, and how the "Everyone for 10 Minutes" setting works. Apple's step-by-step guide is here.
9. Is Apple Pay safe, and how do I start?
Apple Pay is one of the safest ways to pay, because the store never sees your actual card number. Many of our clients are nervous about it at first, and most end up using it every week.
We fix: cards that won't add to the Wallet app, and Apple Pay setup on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
We teach: how to pay in a store, how to check your purchases, and how to spot fake texts that claim there's a problem with your Apple Pay account.
Scam texts are a real risk in South Florida. Learn more about our scam protection service.
10. What should I try before calling for help?
Many Apple problems clear up with a few simple steps. Try these first:
Restart the device. It sounds too simple, but it fixes more than you'd expect.
Check for software updates in Settings (iPhone and iPad) or System Settings (Mac).
Check Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on and connected.
Free up storage if your device says it's full.
Charge it fully, with a different cable if you can.

Apple's Best Accessibility Features, in Under a Minute
Apple devices have some of the best built-in tools for anyone who wants larger text, clearer sound or a simpler screen. Features like Zoom, bigger and bolder text, and Assistive Access can make an iPhone or iPad much easier to use. Here's our quick guide to the seven we recommend most.

What an Apple Lesson With TechCare Miami Looks Like
Our lessons don't follow a script. They follow you.
We start with what matters to you. Seeing the grandkids' photos, video calling your sister in New York, or finally understanding your Mac.
We use your own devices. No demo models. You learn on the iPhone you'll use tomorrow.
You do the tapping. We guide, you practice. That's how it sticks.
No question is too small. Ask it once, ask it five times. We'll explain it a different way until it makes sense.
We build on it. Many clients book a regular session so each lesson picks up where the last one ended.
In-Home Apple Help vs. the Apple Store
The Apple Store is great for some things. If your device needs a hardware repair under warranty or AppleCare, the Genius Bar is the right place to go. Apple also runs group workshops at its stores, including Aventura Mall.
In-home help is different in a few important ways:
It's one-on-one. The whole session is about you and your questions.
Everything gets connected together. We can work on your iPhone, Mac, HomePod and Wi-Fi at the same time, which you can't do at a store counter.
It happens on your Wi-Fi. Many Apple problems are really home network problems, and those can only be fixed at home.
No driving, parking or waiting. We come to you.
